Beaches in Chichester

The area that is called West Sussex or South East England is a hub for beautiful and picturesque beaches that are known for the quality of water they have and also the range of facilities as well as the services that they provide. The beaches are the highlight of the area that the visitors are fond of visiting and praising the beauty of these beaches. 

Bracklesham Bay

Bracklesham bay is a prominent beach in that area. It is a long stretch of shingle but becomes sandier as one moves towards the water edge therefore, it is a combination of both sand and shingle. A large part of sand is exposed when the tide is out and when the tide is in, the sand is hidden underwater. Some of the activities that are popular at Bracklesham bay like swimming and also water sports. Some of the other exciting activities include fossil hunting at the beach. You may find a lot of other visitors during this trip as well because many people are fond of this activity. 

Toilet facilities are also available at the beach and other facilities include shops and restaurants that are nearby to facilitate the visitors with snacks and refreshments after an exhausting day at the beach. There is no lifeguard service available at the beach and it is also a dog-friendly beach. However, there are certain restrictions applied to the access to dogs from 1st May to 30th September. Facilities for disabled individuals are also provided are Bracklesham bay. Water surfing, water skiing, sailing, swimming, and bathing are some of the common activities carried out by visitors here. 

Pagham Beach

Another famous beach located in West Sussex is Pagham beach. The beach is a long stretch of shingle and is also known to be one of the sunniest places in the United Kingdom. Common activities that take place at the Pagham beach include swimming and Yachting along with windsurfing. 

Other than this, this place is usually crowded by walkers who come for a free stroll at the beach and to enjoy the ambiance. Closer to the beach, there is a nature reserve that is usually crowded with bird walkers. Closer to the nature reserve, there is a holiday park which is also an exciting place to visit and there is a small golf club as well. Pagham beach provides car park facilities to its valuable visitors as well. Other than this, toilet facilities are also available. 

There is a nearby shop and some other places to eat as well for the visitors to grab quick snacks and refreshments. There are a range of historic places at the Pagham beach as well that capture the interest of the visitors. There are remains of World War II Mulberry Harbour platform at the Pagham beach as well and there are also a variety of beach huts lined up at the beach that are made out of the remains of old railway carriages. They are also a very pleasing sight for the eyes. 

East Pier beach

Another beautiful beach is East Pier beach located in West Sussex. It is also known as the Worthing Pier. This beach is a long stretch of shingle which stretches for a total of 5 miles. The beach is primarily shingle but at low tide, some of the part of the beach with sand is exposed which is hidden when the tide is high. Common activities at the East Pier beach include fishing, sailing, and windsurfing. There are no lifeguards provided at the East pier beach and there are restrictions imposed on the entry of dogs as dogs are not allowed. Shops and some places to eat and drink are closer to the beach and there is also the Worthing town centre which is located only a walk away from the beach.

The month with the highest temperature in July which is 17.3 degrees Celsius while the month with the lowest temperature in January which is 3.5 degrees Celsius. Rainfall is significant in the city. The month with the highest amount of rainfall is December with 93 mm while the month with the lowest amount of rainfall in July with approximately 50 mm.
