Mesa is by all standards a desert city. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t have water. The city has plenty of nearby water areas for recreation, drinking, and other functions. This includes two rivers and three lakes all within a short drive.
Mesa is heavily influenced by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. There is a temple there and the church is a big part of the city’s history as its members created a trail traveling before 1926 to participate in a ritual sealing of marriage.
