First up is Stone Creek, and it’s ranked as one of the best places to live in Gilbert. It is located within E Guadalupe Rd and N Val Vista Drive. It falls into the district of the Gilbert Unified School District and is next to the largest park in Gilbert. What is Gilbert, AZ, known for?
Gilbert is known as the “Hay Capital of the World” due to its farming and agriculture roots. The town was named after the man who owned the property of the original rail line that traveled through Phoenix and Florence. It was a major agriculture town until the late 1920s. In the 1970s, Gilbert acquired a 53 square mile tract of land to grow the community on and develop like the neighboring suburbs were beginning to do.
