Woolacombe Beach Devon

England is the hub of seaside resorts and coastlines that continue to attract hundreds and thousands of visitors. The visitors are a fan of the picturesque views, marvellous scenery, and adventurous activities as well as the facilities that these seaside resorts and beaches have to offer. One such seaside resort is Woolacombe Beach. It is located in the county named Devon. Devon is considered as a holiday favourite based on the sensational variety and diversity that it has to offer. This is in terms of the beaches located in the county along with the numerous beautiful attractions making a trip to Devon worth a while.

Devon consists of 16 beaches in total. All of them are different from one another as some of them are shingle, while the others are sandy or some of them are simply surrounded by dunes. all the beaches of Devon are diverse and unique from one another. Woolacombe beach Reviews 

The most prominent beach of Devon is Woolacombe Beach. It is a long stretch of golden sands. The beach stretches for approximately three miles along the north coast of Devon. It is known to be a family favourite beach which is characterised by vibrant beach huts that add to the beauty of the beach. If you wish to spend a day with your family at a comfortable and peaceful place where you can carry out Barbecue with family or play a number of games, then Woolacombe Beach is the ideal place to do so. It also allows a range of activities like surfing. 

Lifeguards are available from Easter to September which means that you have the freedom to get in the water and learn to surf as the life guards will be there to protect you. Woolacombe Beach is a dog-friendly area. However, like many other beaches, there are some seasonal restrictions imposed which state that dogs should not be granted entry from April to November. Other than this, there are also places for providing food and refreshments. Restaurants like Pavilion restaurant at the Watersmeet hotel are some of the places that are known to provide scrumptious snacks. 

Barricane beach Reviews 

Another beautiful beach is Barricane beach which is located close to Woolacombe Beach. Since Woolacombe Beach is a family beach therefore, it is supposed to be crowded and also louder, however, Barricane Beach is a quieter option that is available. For a peaceful walk or to calm down along with the sea, Barricane beach is the ideal option for that. A popular activity at the beach is surfing and is usually crowded by surfers. Other than that, there are also a variety of rock pools and rock formation spots as well. 

These places may get crowded and ruin the peace of the area but there are also a variety of secluded spots where one can sit and spend their time in a calm and peaceful ambience. That is the time when one can explore the nature and the beauty that these beaches have in them. There are also many restaurants and cafes near Barricane beach like the Barricane beach café which are there to provide refreshments and snacks to the visitors after spending hours at the beach. Do not forget to grab some of the delicious snacks from this cafe to satisfy your taste buds. 

Places to visit in Devon

Devon Exeter

One of the most beautiful places to visit in Devon is Exeter. It is a university city which has a lot of historical significance because of its ancient origins. Very close to Exeter is the Gothic cathedral. It is a must-visit in Devon as it is known to be the most beautiful church in England. The history of the monument as well as the architecture of the building is very pleasing. Those who are interested in historical architecture and wish to know more about it, then Exeter is one of the best places for them to visit. 

Port of Plymouth Devon and Plymouth Gallery

Another beautiful attraction of Devon is the port of Plymouth which is also of utmost significance. By visiting this port, the visitors would get to know more about the history of this port and will revive the story of how Sir Francis Drake and Mayflower set their fleet from this port. It was used in 1588 which marks the history of this port.  Other than this, there have been many galleries and studios constructed by artists at Plymouth now where they display their pieces of perfection. A visit to Plymouth is a must as it is a source of art. 

Devon Dartmouth

Dartmouth is not to be missed as it is known as one of the prettier coastal towns to be found in England. This also has its historical significance as the knights departed from Crusades from Dartmouth. Other than this, the privateers used to reside here in medieval times. This shows that Dartmouth is very old as compared to the present day. 

All of these beautiful attractions found in Devon are somehow connected to history therefore, it can be of great interest to the people who are interested in knowing more about the history of these monuments and some of the important battles that took place and the role that Devon played in those battles. 

Climate of Devon 

The climate of Devon is generally characterised as oceanic which means that it has cool winters and warm summers. Moreover, the level of precipitation remains higher throughout the year. Devon mainly experiences a seasonal temperature variation. The coldest month for the county is February during which the temperature is between 1.5 degrees Celsius to 5 degrees Celsius. While the hottest month is July in which the temperature is approximately 20 degrees Celsius.

Throughout the year, Devon receives approximately 30 to 40 percent of sunshine. However, in the winter season, especially in December and January, the percentage decreases to 20 percent. Although rainfall is experienced throughout the year, the driest month is April in which only 55 mm rainfall is recorded.
