A lot of his fans are curious about things like his height – so let’s learn about this!

Mark Wahlberg is about 5 foot 8 inches (1.73 meters), which means he’s slightly under the average height for a male actor, but exactly the average height for an American man. Mark Wahlberg can look quite short on the screen at times, but there’s no question he’s still an excellent actor.

We’re going to check out more about Mark Wahlberg’s height, age, and weight, so keep reading to learn about him!

Mark Wahlberg is around 5 foot 8 inches. The average male actor is 5 foot 10 inches (1.78 meters), which means Mark Wahlberg is a little bit under the average, but only by a couple of inches. This is unlikely to be noticed in most films, but does mean that he doesn’t generally come across as a tall character.

However, the average American man is around 5 foot 8 inches, which means he’s pretty average for his country. That means if you met Mark Wahlberg in person, you probably wouldn’t think he was either short or tall.

Some fans are surprised by his height, but that might simply be because we are conditioned to think of actors as tall.

How Tall Is Mark Wahlberg Compared With Other Famous Actors?

In his career, Mark Wahlberg has starred alongside some other famous names, and you might be wondering how he looks in comparison to them.

For example, he worked with Matt Damon on The Departed. Matt Damon is about 5 foot 9 ½ inches (1.77 meters), so he stands a little taller than Mark Wahlberg, although not significantly.

He has also worked alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, who is around 5 foot 11 (1.80 meters). He’s therefore around 3 inches taller than Mark Wahlberg. Again, it’s not a lot, but you might notice it if they stand side by side.

He appeared with George Clooney in The Perfect Storm, and George Clooney is also around 5 foot 11, which makes him around 3 inches taller.

In Pain & Gain, Mark Wahlberg played alongside Dwayne Johnson, who is about 6 foot 5 inches (1.96 meters). He’s definitely taller than Mark Wahlberg, although it should be noted that height estimates for Dwayne Johnson do vary and there is some dispute over whether he’s really this tall.

He has appeared alongside Joaquin Phoenix, in both We Own the Night and The Yards, and Phoenix is about the same height as him, at 5 foot 8 inches. However, many of the other famous actors Mark Wahlberg has worked with, including Will Ferrell and Christian Bale, have been taller than him.

This may have led to the false impression that some fans have of Mark Wahlberg being short. He isn’t short; he’s just worked alongside a lot of tall and famous individuals.

How Old Is Mark Wahlberg?

Mark Wahlberg is now 51 years old. He was born in Massachusetts in 1971, and he started his adult life in the world of music, as a member of the boy band New Kids on the Block, which his older brother was also a member of. He only stayed as a member of the band for a few months.

In the 1990s, he was a member of the group Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, and went by the stage name, Marky Mark. The band was successful, although Mark Wahlberg attracted criticism with his support of anti-gay Shabba Ranks.

Wahlberg has also attracted a lot of criticism for racist acts in his early years, including violent attacks on individuals and inciting violence among others.

The last of these occurred in 1992, and Mark Wahlberg has since stated that he has changed and that he has put in the work to become a better person. Some individuals remain skeptical, while others believe he deserves to be forgiven.

How Did Mark Wahlberg Get Into Acting?

Mark Wahlberg’s first acting role was in The Substitute, released in 1993, and he gave up his Marky Mark stage name at this point. He then appeared in Renaissance Man the following year, and then alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in The Basketball Diaries in 1995. In 1996, he took a starring role in Fear.

He has since appeared in a vast number of movies and has received a lot of awards for his performances. Some of his works include:

  • Boogie Nights
  • Three Kings
  • The Perfect Storm
  • Planet of the Apes
  • The Truth About Charlie
  • Four Brothers
  • Max Payne
  • The Lovely Bones
  • Ted
  • Transformers: The Last Knight
  • Instant Family
  • Uncharted
  • Me Time

As you can see, he’s had a large number of roles, and is showing no signs of slowing down, despite stating plans to retire at 40.

How Much Does Mark Wahlberg Weigh?

This depends on when you measure; Mark Wahlberg has really bulked up for some roles (such as his part in Pain and Gain). His weight has ranged between 165 lb and 205 lb (75 kg and 93 kg). He mentioned his weight in 2011 as being around 185 lb (84 kg), which represents a reasonable average.

He gained weight for his role in Father Stu, with some sources estimating 20 lb (9 kg) and some estimating 30 lb (14 kg). He’s not generally considered “bodybuilder material,” but there’s no question that he’s in great shape.

Mark Wahlberg is not the tallest actor out there, but he has enjoyed a long and very successful career in spite of this. He has international fame and has won many awards for his performances. Although some controversy has surrounded the actor, there’s little question that he is much admired by his fans.
