Everyone has heard of Los Angeles and San Diego. But the name Anaheim seems to fly under the radar. Where is Anaheim, California and why should you be interested in what it’s known for?

Where is Anaheim, CA Located on The US Map?

Anaheim California sits at the southern edge of the state. Its more noteworthy neighbors include Los Angeles to the west and San Diego to the southeast. It’s very close to the shore of the Pacific Ocean where several islands wade out into the water. 

How Big is Anaheim, CA?

Anaheim California is the second-largest city in Orange County regarding land area. It is the most populous city in Orange County with a recorded population of 336,265 as of the 2010 United States census.

To help put some of that in perspective, the city limits of Anaheim extend almost the full width of Orange County from Cypress in the west 20 mi east to the Riverside county line in the east which encompasses a diverse range of neighborhoods. This variety spans mid 20th-century tract houses, historic districts, and the center of commercial activity south of downtown.

Is Anaheim, CA a Good Place to Live?

Anaheim California has a lot to offer for people to get bored easily. The city itself is a beautiful place but there are plenty of things to do, and they aren’t all centered around Disneyland.

There’s no shortage of good restaurants to eat at. Residents do not hesitate to give the place five stars in terms of the overall ambiance of the city.

You can attend a hockey game at the Honda center or even a concert depending on your taste. “Safe and clean” have been some of the words given to the city by the people who actually live there.

Some have even gone so far as to describe parts of the city as quiet, short on noisy traffic, and plenty of good food around. Others have commented on how they love the way that the beach is 30 minutes away and the mountains are about an hour and a half away.

Something that has stood out is the multicultural unity of the city. Anaheim is home to so many different races and ethnicities, and they each bring their own flavor of food to the restaurant scene.

The beer brewery community is big and active enough to keep the attention of beer connoisseurs. There are farmers’ markets for people interested in fresh and locally grown, there’s casual beer tasting, and there’s baseball and hockey games. 

There are also craft fairs, entrepreneurship seminars, fitness-centric events, and much more… You can bet that in this age of events organized on the user level, there’s a place for every interest in Anaheim. 

It seems that the one thing there isn’t much of is boredom. 

What Are The Best Areas to Live in Anaheim, CA?

Anaheim Resort

The Anaheim Resort area is the first place you should look at if you’re thinking of living in Anaheim. The population is about 39,427. Anaheim Resort shares Orange County with many other noteworthy locations.

Life in Anaheim Resort offers residents an “urban-suburban” mix feel. Most of the residents there rent their homes. There are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. The predominant political sentiments of the area are liberal. Public schools in Anaheim Resort are considered to be above average.

East Center Street

East center Street easily makes the list of best places to live in Anaheim, California. But the population is only 261. The median income of families that live on East center Street is $70,862. Life is good on East Center Street, but it’s a quality of life that residents pay for. 

Downtown

The downtown area of Anaheim, California is more than just businesses and restaurants. There’s also some select living space there. If it ranks as the third-best then you know that there are some things about the housing that turn heads. Options run the range of extremely upscale apartments to Senior Citizen units. Residents are very close to businesses and restaurants. 

North Euclid

North Euclid is a neighborhood that should not be passed over quickly by anyone looking for a home in Anaheim, California. The population is listed as 9,504. The median income of families that can afford to live in the neighborhood is $57,136. Understandably, the affordability of the area is rated as low but the safety and the amenities are rated among the highest in the area.

What is Anaheim, CA Known For?

One of the things that really put Anaheim California on the map was the original Disneyland. The first iteration is always the biggest and the best and the first to get all the fun updates. 

The Magic Kingdom with its various themed sections including Tomorrowland, Adventureland, and Fantasyland continues to have immense staying power and continues to expand.

But not everything that has put Anaheim California on the map has had anything to do with Mickey Mouse, but Disneyland is the top tourist spot in the area.

It’s presently known as Disneyland Park and it includes traditional favorites like the Sleeping Beauty Castle, The Matterhorn Bobsleds, and rides like Dumbo the Flying Elephant and It’s a Small World. These rides have grown to include Pirates of the Caribbean, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, and the Indiana Jones Adventure.

Anaheim California is also known for being the home of two major sports teams: The Anaheim Ducks ice hockey club and the Los Angeles Angels baseball team.

The Anaheim Ducks owe their existence to the Disney movie MIGHTY DUCKS. The team was owned by the Walt Disney company until 2006.

Anaheim California is also home to the Anaheim Convention Center which is just a stone’s throw away from Disneyland Resort. The Convention Center’s name doesn’t quite hint at the high-profile nature of the events that are hosted there. They’ve included events like Vidcon, Blizzcon, Anime Expo, D23 Expo, Wondercon, NAMM Show, various competitions and others. The Anaheim Convention Center was used to host wrestling during the 1984 Summer Olympics.

If you love Disneyland and you love variety, Anaheim offers plenty of it for all levels of living.
