Val Kilmer has had quite the career. He got started as a stage actor, before launching into a whole host of comedy roles. He is perhaps best remembered as Batman, though, or perhaps as his role of Iceman in Top Gun. He’s certainly had quite the career, and he is one of the rare actors that can slot into any piece of entertainment with ease.

You’re here because you want to learn more about Val Kilmer, right? You want to learn about his height, age, and weight? Well, we’re going to give you all of that information, plus a few bonus facts on Val Kilmer. We’ll even let you know his net worth!

Who Is Val Kilmer?

Because of his role in Top Gun and Batman, a lot of people paint Val Kilmer as an ‘action star’, although he is anything but.

Before Val Kilmer got into the movie & TV acting game, he was an accomplished stage actor. In fact, he was so accomplished that many directors tried to get him to act in their movies (perhaps the big ones being Francis Ford Coppola and The Outsiders), but theater was Val Kilmer’s first love.

When he finally did start to practice his acting chops on the screen, it was in Top Secret! Where he rapidly became known for his comedy stylings. Although, eventually branched out into more serious roles and, of course, the action roles many know him for.

Unfortunately, he hasn’t been as active in recent years due to suffering from throat cancer. Although, he now appears to have managed to get through the worst, and his career is ramping up again. It probably won’t reach the dizzying heights that it did back in the 80s and 90s, but it is clear that Val Kilmer is there for the love of acting.

How Tall is Val Kilmer?

How Tall Is Val Kilmer?

Val Kilmer is ever so slightly under 6 feet tall (he comes in at around 5-foot, 11 ½”). In metric, this would put him at 1.82m. This means that he is a good few inches over the average height for a man.

His height made him the perfect choice to play Batman. That’s a role that has always demanded that the actor is on the taller side of things.

How Old is Val Kilmer?

Val Kilmer was born on December 31st, 1959. At the time of writing, he is 63 years old. By the 1st of January 2024, he will be 64 years old.

How Much Does Val Kilmer Weigh?

This is a very, very tough question to answer. There isn’t any accurate information out there about Val Kilmer’s weight, although this is due to the fact that, in recent years, he has been going through chemotherapy. As a result, his weight has been up and down like a yo-yo.

It is believed that Val Kilmer weighs around 205 lbs (93kg), which seems about right. He has a good number of muscles, and he is on the taller side of things. He is a bit heavier than he was in the earlier stages of his career (some have suggested he weighed as little as 175 lbs then), but the weight gain is natural as you get older, especially when you have gone through the sorts of things that Val Kilmer has had to go through.

How Much Is Val Kilmer Worth?

Val Kilmer has been in a lot of different movies, but he is worth nowhere near as much as some of the other actors that have done the same. It is believed that Val Kilmer is worth just $25 million. Enough to live on, but you can’t help but think he probably should have had more cash.

There are two reasons why his net worth is lower than his contemporaries:

  • He has never really been the ‘leading man’, outside a couple of movies. People don’t buy tickets to see Val Kilmer.
  • Most of his projects seem to be passion projects rather than massive blockbusters that will be raking in the cash. As we said before, it is clear that Val Kilmer is doing things for the love of acting, not for a paycheck.

Fun Facts About Val Kilmer

  • He studied at Julliard. This is one of the most prestigious schools for acting. The school must have really believed in him too. He was accepted at just 16 and, to this day, remains the youngest person to ever study drama at Juilliard.
  • Val Kilmer doesn’t do in-person auditions. He only does video-recorded auditions. We suppose it is because it gives him more control over the experience. It is likely that this may have impacted his career in some ways. In fact, Stanley Kubrick refused to hire him because of the videotaped auditions.
  • He still performs on stage regularly, and if you’re lucky, you may catch him. He is touted as one of the best actors of his generation.
  • If you head to Hollywood, you can actually find a small museum dedicated to Val Kilmer.
  • Val Kilmer is apparently a top method actor, and he is very specific in the way that he acts. Unfortunately, this has managed to put many people off of working with him (hence why he was replaced with George Clooney on Batman), but we suppose it works. We can’t think of a single role that Val Kilmer hasn’t nailed.
  • After starring in his first movie (Top Secret!), he wondered whether acting was for him. He decided to ditch acting for a little bit and backpack across Europe to discover himself.
  • He almost played the lead male in Dirty Dancing (the role that went to Patrick Swayze), but he turned it down at the last minute. He figured it would negatively impact his career and give him less of an opportunity to do the ‘unique’ roles. He didn’t want to be seen as an 80s hunk.

Conclusion

There you have it. Everything you need to know about the 63-year-old Val Kilmer. He weighs around 200 lbs and is almost 6 feet tall. You also know that he is one of the most talented actors in the world (partly due to his method acting). We hope he continues in the acting game for a long time to come, especially on the stage. We’re sure he will, though. He knows just how great he is, even if he has never exactly been a ‘lead’ in many movies.
