You’ll be able to work at the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital or the Eastern Virginia Medical School. Plus, you’ll be able to easily get to the Chrysler Museum of Art. Other attractions include: Botetourt Gardens, Van Wyck Mews Park, and the Weyanoke Wildlife Sanctuary. There’s some iconic restaurants to eat at such as Doumar’s Cones and Barbecue.

  • North Shore: This is a great place if you’re military who is transferring to the Naval Station Norfolk. The naval base and Downtown forms the northern border with water to the south, and Granby Street on the western side.
  • Talbot Park: This neighborhood is surrounded  by water on three sides with Colonial Park on the north side. There is the Norfolk Collegiate School and lots of Norfolk Christian Schools in this neighborhood. You’ll be able to find several churches such as the Greek Orhodox Cathedral. There’s not much greenery here but you’ll still have Granby Street Park as well as Caton Park. Talbot Park is home to the DePaul Medical Center.
  • Roland Park: You’ll find this neighborhood where Norview  Avenue dead ends at Tidewater Drive. Wayne Creek borders the neighborhood. There’s a nice playground for children and has some small businesses. The main employer in this area is Norfolk Community Services.

Norfolk is known for the world’s largest naval base. There’s also the North American Headquarters for NATO. It is home to the USS Wisconsin. Cruise vessels stop at Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center.
