For People Who Love to Ride.” It ranked number 12 in 2012 in a list by Bicycle Magazine and earned the title of “Best Road Biking City in 2010” from Outdoor Magazine. 

The reason for the biking distinction is Tucson has an incredible biking infrastructure that rivals other U.S. cities. 

Running and hiking are also popular with locals as there are plenty of trails to use. Swimming and rock climbing are also popular as the weather, water and rocks allow for that most of the year.

Downtown Tucson is hipper with its restaurant variety with authentic Mexican food that you can’t find anywhere else. A benefit of living in Tucson is the proximity to fresh produce so they are super cheap.

Regarding careers, Tucson is the spot for entrepreneurs. The city’s regulations and policies are beneficial to small businesses. Phoenix is one of the largest cities in the U.S. so a great urban market and distribution are only two hours away.

What Are The Best Places To Live In Arizona?

Scottsdale is a terrific place for families, even though it has a reputation as a retirement town. It features safety, wonderful public schools, jobs with high income and stability, and an affordable cost of living. The downtown is vibrant and it has a gorgeous riverfront.

Mesa has 460,000 people who call it home but it is a no-fuss city located in the desert. However, it does have lots of water around including a trio of lakes and two rivers all 30 minutes of the city. There are also pools everywhere. 

One fun fact is Mesa is Arizona’s Christmas capital with lights so extensive that millions of people come every year to see them.

Tempe is a third choice for those looking to move to Arizona. It is home to Arizona State University but maintains the small city feel even with 83,000 college students. Being a college town gives Tempe a high-energy nightlife, tons of food, art, and a lot of free things to do. 

The bonus is Tempe Town Lake in the city center where people canoe and paddle board.

Arizona is best known for its national parks including the Grand Canyon. Its geography makes it a unique state in that the southern portion is a desert climate while northern Arizona has mountain ranges, forests, and canyons.

Tucson has the world’s largest amount of saguaro cacti so locals never take pictures with it. Hollywood celebrities like Rita Hayworth and Gary Cooper used to come to Tucson regularly to visit a “dude ranch.”
